đŸŒ±Tavistock Refillery Zero Waste ProjectđŸŒ±

Our next-door-neighbour, Jar Tavistock, sadly had to close earlier this year, leaving our wonderful town bereft of the facility every forward-thinking community needs – a refill shop!

The Plan

But we have a plan; to take up the space on Market Street vacated by Jar and establish a community-led initiative: The Tavistock Refillery.

How You Can Help

Getting this volunteer-led project off the ground will, of course, require funds, so the Tavistock Refillery CIC have set up a Crowdfunder. If you could make a donation towards our ÂŁ10,000 target we would be immensely grateful, however large or small your  contribution – though the bigger the donation the greater the rewards!

Donate here and get rewards!

Thrifty Kitchen is Monroe’s bumper collection of over 120 brand-new, delicious, low-cost recipes, plus money-saving household tricks.

The Trussell Trust’s vision is to bring an end to the need for food banks in the UK. Their network includes more than 1,300 local food bank centres across the UK who are providing practical support for people facing hardship. But emergency food isn’t a long-term solution to hunger. The Trussell Trust believe we can change this by ensuring everyone has enough income to eat, stay warm and stay dry. That’s why they also work with communities across the UK to change the things that push people to need a food bank. The Trussell Trust believe that in coming together, and working together, we will build a future where none of us need a food bank, because none of us will allow it.

Big Jubilee Read

We are delighted to be participating in the Big Jubilee Read….

The Big Jubilee Read is a reading for pleasure campaign celebrating great reads from across the
Commonwealth to coincide with Her Majesty The Queen’s Jubilee. An expert panel of librarians,
booksellers and literature specialists has chosen seventy titles from a “readers’ choice” longlist with
ten books for each decade of Her Majesty The Queen’s reign. The list offers brilliant, beautiful and
thrilling writing produced by authors from a wide range of Commonwealth countries over the last
seventy years to engage all readers in the discovery and celebration of great books.
The Big Jubilee Read campaign will be delivered in partnership with BBC Arts and The Reading
Agency. It received funding from Arts Council England and is supported by Libraries Connected and
the Booksellers Association.
